The Department of Political Science is one of the four (4) Departments established in the Faculty of Social Science of the University in the year 2016 with 139 students who were admitted through UTME and Post-UTME conducted by the University. The Academic Programme is designed/structured in line with the Nigerian University Commission (NUC) specification. This is to ensure a high level of competence of the graduates of Political Science and also to increase their flexibility in fitting into diverse career and industry. The pioneer head of the Department was Professor J.S. Omotola, who piloted the affairs of the Department to remain one of the best and most vibrant in the University in terms of quality of personnel and productivity.
